Welcome to Northwest Predator Hunting (NWPH)!

This site has a pretty simple purpose - a place on the Internet that is dedicated to sharing information and learning about the topic of hunting predatory species in the Pacific Northwest. If hunting coyotes, varmints, or boar in Oregon, Washington, Idaho or Montana is not what you are looking for then you found the wrong site. (NOTE - sorry California, you are technically not part of the Pacific Northwest so we don’t have anything pertaining to your state)

With hunters becoming more scarce, mainly due to lack of opportunity, NWPH wants to help reverse that trend while helping out the rest of the hunting community by thinning out predatory species that hurt game and domestic animals. You can think of us as conversationalists with firepower! Between predation of game animals and financial losses to both ranchers and farmers, the impact of predatory animals is a good reason to pick up your rifle and bag some flea-bitten varmints!

What is a Predatory Animal?

In the Pacific Northwest, predatory animals are coyotes, rodents, feral swine, and certain birds that are damaging to game populations, domestic livestock, or to agricultural crops. These species are considered predatory, since they can decimate other animal populations. Predatory species are generally overpopulated, Therefore these animals generally have no closed season, bag limit or weapons restriction.

This however does not mean that all varmints, such as rabbits and other rodents, are available to hunt. A hunter must first find out if the small game they are seeking to hunt is either Federally or state-protected and if it carries any special regulations, such as closed seasons, bag limits or weapons restrictions.

What Makes Northwest Predator Hunting Different From Other Hunting Sites?

Good question - it really comes down to the focus on predator hunting in the Pacific Northwest, since we couldn’t find any other sites that focused on this topic. NWPH.org started out as a good idea between a couple guys that enjoy shooting and hunting. This site is for the love of shooting, hunting, and being outdoors - we aren’t trying to sell you anything.
